Election 2011 can change Irish politics forever!

FOLLOW THE MONEY

“The Irish economy is in crisis. And why? Because old style political parties spent too much time looking after their cronies and not enough time looking out for people. In Election 2011 Irish citizens can vote to break the ties with the vested interests that have caused political parties to be subservient to their paymasters for decades” asserts Mark Dearey.

“Ask yourself, indeed ask your candidates, where did the money come from for this election campaign? Elections are not cheap – and it has long been the tradition of political parties in this country to accept donations from big business or trade unions. Ask yourself, what exactly do those organisations get in return for their financial support of political parties?” he urges voters.

“When faced with making a decision in your best interests or for the good of vested interests, can you be sure that your local politician will make the right call? My party has never accepted political funding from big business or trade unions and nor have I. Consequently I am free to make decisions based on the common good and this is how politics must be in future.”

Dearey believes that the phrase “Political reform” has been over-used in this campaign. But real reform is not possible without clean politics with no ties to vested interests.

Speaking about funding for his own election campaign “I have funded my own campaign with only small donations from family members worth €500 or less each. My campaign has been powered by an unbelievable effort from my voluntary team. If elected I will owe nobody anything. I will be free to make decisions based on the common good and that is what I will do. Can the other parties say the same?"

He concludes “For honest politics and commitment to delivering for the people of the constituency please vote No. 1 Dearey on February 25th.”
