Dearey appeals for your No. 1 vote

HONEST POLITICS – TIME TO BREAK WITH THE PAST

"This can be the election where politics keeps its promises" says Dundalk native Mark Dearey.

In the final days of GE 2011 Dearey launched a scathing attack on Fianna Fail claiming that they “effectively bought the last two elections but that this time the people won’t be fooled again."

"In 2002 public spending increased by 20% ahead of that years general election and in 2007 Fianna Fail did the same and bumped up spending by 14%. Crazy economics and too clever by half politics combined to cause a annual €19 billion public deficit. This is now finally being addressed but in the process it is causing huge pain for families right across town" claimed Dearey.

"I can’t make that go away and I will not get drawn into a campaign like Sinn Fein who are simply pretending that we can go on as before. In economic terms they are doing what FF did in the past. All I can offer is to work for reform and to help Dundalk's economy survive and grow sustainably in the next few years. If we play to our strengths we can be a home for inward investment once more and I believe my skills and experience can help to deliver that.”

On political reform Dearey's message is simple "follow the money". “So many decisions in Irish politics have been to serve vested interests. My party has never accepted political funding from big business or trade unions and nor have I. Consequently I am free to make decisions based on the common good and this is how politics must be in future.”

Speaking about funding for his own election campaign “I have funded my own campaign with only small donations from family members worth €500 or less each. My campaign has been powered by an unbelievable effort from my voluntary team. If elected I will owe nobody anything. I will be free to make decisions based on the common good and that is what I will do. Can the other parties say the same?"

He concludes “For honest politics and commitment to delivering for Dundalk please vote No. 1 Dearey on February 25th.”
